Truck Route Network

About

City Transportation, Department of

Any vehicle defined as a truck (two axles and six tires; or three or more axles) is required to follow the New York City Truck Route Network, a series of roadway segments that establish the routing requirements for all truck trips made on New York City arterials.

The network is comprised of two distinct classes of roadways: Local Truck Routes and Through Truck Routes. Commercial vehicles that do not meet the definition of a truck per the New York City Traffic Rules are not required to follow this network, but must follow all posted signage regarding the operation of commercial vehicles.
