Permit to Install Sewer House Connection
A Permit to Install Single/Multiple Premises(s) Sewer House Connection lets you connect a new house sewer to a City or private sewer.
You need this permit if:
- Your construction business needs to temporarily discharge groundwater to a sanitary, storm or combined sewer but has no sewer connection.
- Your business has a sewer connection that does not work.
All construction projects that lower the groundwater table must follow the Sewer Use Regulations in Title 15 of the Rules of the City of New York (RCNY) Chapter 19.

Permit fees:
- Single/Multiple Premise(s) Sewer House Connections: $200.00 per lot

- Download and print: Download and print the Application for Permit to Install Single/Multiple Premise(s) Sewer House Connection(s).
- Fill out the form: Sign the form, add the seal and include the plumber's license number.
- Submit the application: Take it to the DEP Water and Sewer Records Borough Office.
- Receive a response: DEP will respond within one day.
- Approved application: If approved, you will get a copy to install a new house sewer connection.
- Bring the approved application and fee: Take them to any DEP Bureau of Customer Services Borough Office.
- Permit issuance: You will get the permit on the spot or be asked to come back the next day.
